Honouring The Naked Body
A Practice in Releasing Perfectionism
Two weeks ago, at my Full Moon Ceremony, I guided a group of women through a powerful practice - one that asked us to see ourselves fully, to meet our bodies exactly as they are, and to soften the relentless grip of perfectionism put on us by society.
We stood before our own reflections, not to critique or adjust, but to witness. The women were invited to take photos of their bodies - not posed, not curated, just raw and real. And from those images, we created art. Not to change, not to “improve,” but to honour.
Because how often do we truly see ourselves? Not through the lens of self-criticism, but through compassion and reverence?
So many of us have been conditioned to pick ourselves apart - to stand in front of a mirror and immediately scan for “flaws.” We tug at our skin, sigh at the softness of our bellies, analyze every perceived imperfection. We become our own worst critics, often before anyone else even has the chance to see us. I know I have done this many times.
We do this with our bodies as a whole, and we do this with the most intimate parts of ourselves - our genitals, our breasts, our stretch marks, our scars
. And yet, our bodies are living art, holding our stories, our pleasure, our power.
This week, I want to offer you a practice in honouring the naked body - one that allows you to drop the critique, soften into acceptance, and witness yourself with the love and appreciation you so freely give to others. This is the same practice I led at the Full Moon Ceremony, and I’m sharing it as a gift to my paid subscribers and, as a one-time offering, to my free subscribers as well. Simply click the link below to redeem your one time offer.
This practice ties beautifully into the conversation we had in my last publication - about body hair, beauty standards, and questioning the preferences we’ve been conditioned to hold true. If you found yourself reflecting on those themes, this is your invitation to take it deeper.
Let this be a moment to honour yourself, exactly as you are.
Please note; this pre recording does reference women and the feminine, but is a practice anyone can do and I highly encourage men to do this too.
You can find the practice here.
If you enjoyed this practice and getting recorded content, I highly recommend you upgrade to a Paid Subscription. You will get practices like this plus meditations, discounts, early bird offers and so much more. And you’ll be supporting me and my work in one of the cheapest and easiest ways possible.
With love and pleasure as always,
Bryony
